french/english translations of bass terminology

    Dear ppl on this bass forum,

    i am a 16 year old bass player who is going to do a slapbass tutorial in france, but, i dont know the translation of slapbass, strings or pick and pluck in french can someone please help me since there are no good translations on the internet,

  2. Hello !

    As I'm french, here is how I would translate those words :

    To slap : Slapper (say it : slapé)
    slapbass : basse slap
    Strings : Cordes (say it : kord, yeah it's a "bad friend" !)
    Pick : MĂ©diatore (most french players know the word "pick" though)

    The best way to translate pluck would be "tirer" when talkin about slapbass though the real translation would be "pincer" (= to pinch) .
