I've been reading up on filing and crowning fret and I have the filing down, but the crowning is giving me some trouble. When you're crowning do you completly round the fret or do you leave the top semi flat? The basses in question all have jumbo fretwire and I'm using a jumbo fret file.
  2. leave a thin line across the top, otherwise you could go to far and you'll need to stone um again, best way to do it is mark each fret top with a high light marker (red or blue are good) then crown um then give um a rub with 400 paper on the sides only the top kinda gets done as your going the finish sand with 0000 wire wool and polish with a small wheel if you want
