Hi all, Just registered after being a long time lurker. I'm posting to ask a little bit if advice, I've just managed to get my first brand new bass ( I've only ever played second hand stuff before ) so my experience in setting up basses is pretty limited. Really only ever changed strings, polished frets and done some cosmetic stuff here and there. I've done my best from following a few videos online but I just can't seem to get rid of a little fretbuzz on the first few frets of then A, D & G strings. I can almost get rid of it by setting the action a good bit higher than I would like but it's not an ideal fix. Unfortunately the local guitar tech is closed due to the pandemic and the nearest brick and mortar store charges a £70 minimum regardless of how much work needs done.
I feel this could be a fairly easy fix and I would really like to try sort it out myself and avoid over paying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folks!

Sounds like you need a little more relief in the neck. Loosen the truss rod about 1/4 turn and check for improvement.

How much relief does your neck have right now? Can you take a measurement for us?
