Fretless bass playing. I'm addicted to vibrato. To Vibrato or not too vibrato?

    Vibrato is your voice. When it doesn't sound like your voice, it's too much.

    Ya, Chuck's right, more or less. All depends on the situation. If you're in a band where you're not the boss, you have to do a level of people pleasing to keep the gig, but on your own or in a band that's more of a democracy that encourages it, you can do what you want.

    Whenever you go to do a vibrato, I want you to slide that note up to the top and then back to the bottom of the fretboard, and then repeat. No less.
