Anyone have any experience with one? I'm wondering how playing chords and guitar like stuff works with it?

Chords would be about as easy as on any fretless guitar or oud or related instrument - that is to say, fiendishly difficult and requiring more talent than I can muster. But yeah, have at it. :D (You don't want to hear what I sound like on my fretless 8 string (4 courses of 2) bass, neither! :p ;)

  3. OP, I agree with @bholder . With shorter distances between frets, it'll be more difficult to hit the proper note(s). If you attempt chords, you need to nail a number of notes simultaneously. It's not impossible, but it'll take a lot of dedicated practice on your part.

I'm not sure where you'll locate a fretless Bass VI, unless you plan to defret an existing one or if you're going with a custom builder.
