OK so I'm having one of those days where you get really into playing and the ideas keep flowing - I hope some of you enjoyed the Willis tune I posted earlier - well I just got busy with the fretless five again - but this time got into this dreamy loop and slapped on my Bass IQ (EBS) and then mashed on the delay in Sound Forge afterwards - and this is what I just recorded (like ten minutes ago) - it's a bit long, not really - about 4mins, but the end is really sweet - it's worth the wait: Fretless Loop: Africa Sleeps Willis workout... Speak Part 2 - Fretless Solo
Nice. That bass has a beautiful 'mwah' sound. I have a Yamaha fretless that has a 'mwah' acoustically but when it's plugged in, it's gone! Gah! Great playing too. I dig!
As ever David - thanks - I'm just checking one of you tunes (All Out Funk) - sounds great too - I'm just loving playing fretless big time at the moment...cheers M
The mwah really comes out when you boost in the 800 to 1000 Hz range...have you tried that? Having an amp with a variable mid frequency control really helps.
Thanks dudes - check out the new frteless loop I just added (hot off the PC) - I've gone all Steve Lawson...sorry Steve! Sorry to sound so enthusiastic - I get a little carried away sometimes - thanks for listening.

..emmersed in distracting effects...the delay is far too long..to the point that it *seems* like there is another bassist accompanying...Stay cool notwithstanding aforesaid.Fallon.
Nice work Urb!!! great tone and great chops. You sound like you could put out your own instructional fretless bass video.
Yes,that's the distraction. We can all 'sound' like bass gurus given the technology to hand. What does it prove to solo over yourself when there are those who are true legends, needing only one bass to speak to us.As I said,I did like the piece.Stay cool nonetheless.Fallon.
Ok - I think you're being a little harsh here - have a listen to this, for a NON effected piece: Willis workout... Speak Part 2 - Fretless Solo I only added the delay on the other piece to make it pan in a sort of dreamy stereo way - not to compensate for a lack of ability - I think you've misunderstood what I was trying to do here...
Cheers fella - I don't think I'm that good - I am posting here again instead of practising - but thanks again - these are all very much works in progress - confidence is a fragile thing - I need to go and build mine up again now...
