Fretless Hofner?

    Hi All,
    I'm thinking about removing the frets from my Hofner 501 bass guitar. I'm wondering if anyone has done this. I'm thinking it would be interesting to hear the sound of an electric hollow body fretless bass. I would have it done by a professional.
