I had been toying with the 5-string fretless idea awhile, and sold some stuff and saved up to get Gard to send me this:

HOLY CRAP. just, plain, Delicious. Plays like a dream, sounds like a dream. Somebody pinch me.

(Note: This BNF5 edged out a semihollow Benavente SCB because it was already available with no wait time, and I saved a small handful of dollars for gas money :smug: .)

It's harder to slap than my Warwick fretless 4, but only because the action is so damn low :D But it makes up for that minor quibble in every other way. The 3-band EQ boost-only setup is quite nice for dialing-in, the bass balances more perfectly than anything else I've owned, and the neck shape and string spacing couldn't be better.

I'm now the victim of indecision as to which bass to play at any given moment. The Fodera is the flagship, the dream bass I had always drooled over, but in recent days I've been playing the Modulus non-stop. And now this FBass! Gawd, I think my Warwick is gonna get neglected!

I only hope that any audition, band or gig coming myway will assist in figuring out which is needed for the moment, because if I have to choose arbitrarily I'll either miss it, or show up with all of'em!

Congrats on the FBass Dave! I have had my BN5 for about 9months
and I still think it was one of the best (maybe the best) bass
    purchases in 33 years.

    :meh: Damn I getting old...

Beautiful Bass Dave! I Love my BN5 Fretted. It is my main Number One bass! Nothing else is even close. As you said, it balances perfectly, and has incredible action! Enjoy!

Aaaahhhhh yes, my favorite addict strikes again!!!!

(we need a smiley with a handlebar moustache, twisting it evilly!!! :hyper: )

Dude, that bass will be missed by me, it was incredible.

Worse yet, now that it's off the wall in the shop, we've hung up another BNF-5, a black & white ceruse, and it is torturing me!!!!

...a little of my own "medicine", hmm? :help:

Dave, that bass has deserved a good home, I'm very happy to see that it has found one.
