Yes, check out "Book of Flames". It sounds easy, some of his stuff, but when you try to play it, you realize that it's damn hard.

Tony Franklin - the work he did with "The Firm" and Derek Sherinian's "Planet X" CD is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

John Myung - Not a name the comes to mind when you think of fretless playing, but he has some beautifully melodic lines on songs such as "Hollow Years", "Peruvian Skies", "Through Her Eyes" and others.

  12. Alphonso Johnson, Weather Report, Santana and solo artist
Fernando Saunders, with Jan Hammer and Lou Reed.
Mo Foster, session player with Jeff Beck, Phil Collins and many more plus 2 nice solo cds that are hard to find.

Sting with the Police. A really great fretless player. :)

  14. Jimmy 'Flim' Johnson has a wonderful tone and a nice sense of melody, check out any Flim & BBs you can find and if you get really lucky Wayne Johnson Trio, plus a couple of recordings with Allan Holdsworth.

I have two Wayne Johnson cds... Jimmy smokes. Also have Alphonso Johnson's solo stuff and Weather Report. Flim and Slim;)

I even have Fernando Saunders' solo cd... he's singing all over it.
