  1. Hi. I am looking to buy a fretless, but I am on a very, very strict budget. I have $500. I would like 5 or more strings, but a 4 string is alright if it's a good deal. I've been looking into used gear to get the best for my money. Basses that have caught my attention are Brice HXB 6 string fretless, MTD Kingston 5, A couple 4 string Warwick Corvettes on Ebay. What are some other basses I should look into? I play rock, funk, and jazz and I prefer active over passive, but I don't really care as long as it plays well.

Check out the Cort Curbow, the fretless 5 is great. and right about 500 I think. When I was looking for fretlesses that one was the best in that price range.
  3. you could probably find a used Carvin 5 fretless for $500. My lb70f (fretless) is a joy to play. :)
