    Ive been wanting to turn my old four string ibanez GSR200 into a fretless. is this a good or a bad idea.

    If you don't feel confortable doing it yourself a luthier or just buying a replacement neck would be a good move. I think warmoth [sp?] has a maple neck w/rosewood board for like $179 base + i believe 45 for the fretless then after that it'd cost just under [i think] the price of your bass so that may not be an option. [it isn't for me $200+ for a neck + gettin nut, and installation is not something i can do right now] thats all
