Wednesday night during church, I was playing some simple chords... (not sure of the technical name... the chord was rootnote+a 5th of that note.. one string down, 2 frets up)

Anywho, I played these chords for probably... 10 minutes? (this was at the end of a 30 minute set)and my hand started cramping fairly bad. I know my technique is not good by any means... never had a lesson, so I just make it up as I go.

My question is, has anyone else experienced these cramps while fretting chords? and what can I do about it? I am not even sure what proper fret hand technique is, or if I am pressing to hard, or if I should let off the frets some. I was sliding the notes, trying for continous sustain, so I almost never let up...

thanks for any help you an give!

Those are your standard double stops, best fingered with a 1-4 approach so your hand doesn't have to do a lot of stretching.
