Gigging thiw weekend I noticed a fretwire protruding downward from the neck. Less than a millimeter but enough to feel and get caught on my wedding ring (which I promised my wife I would always wear while gigging). I actually had to take the ring off to keep from getting caught up.

The ring is not the problem. :p

Has anyone seen a problem like this? It doesn't look like it is popping out of place and it doesn't look like it was dinged. It hasn't been dropped.

Will this wire have to be re-set or filed down?

    This is not uncommon.
Wood works and can shrink when it dries. Frets don't.
If it's not too bad, leave it alone.
Or take it to a service and have it filed down. You can do it yourself of course.
    Refretting is probably not necessary.

    Claremore OK.
JMX is right all you need to do is is use a fine file and make sure you file the end of the fretts at a 45 and you should be ok.
