holy CRAP!!! that's the day i leave for florida! i would be there in a heartbeat. the anchor inn is...kinda...nice...i guess. always a crowd ready to rock though. you'll have fun!
Is there two Anchor Inn's in Wi, I only know of the one in Newville across the street from Clubraven on Hwy 59 next to the river? Right outside of Edgerton? Becuase I've been seeing shows advertised at The Anchor Inn in Madison, but the one I'm talking about is about 40 miles from their, well anywho, just wondering, so where abouts in Wi are you, I'm from Fort Atkinson, about 30 miles from Madison, 20 from Johnson Creek 15 from Whitewater. Anyway, sounds interesting. peace -Ben
yeah, the anchor inn is a block or so from the barrymore in the atwood neighborhood. and i live in madison, right on lake mendota and one block from james madison park, and about a 15 minute walk from campus. i'm moving in august though, right next to the lake still but right on tenney park. i like lakes.
Thats crazy, I didn't know madtown had an Anchor Inn as well, haha So do you ever go to Cloud City being right there in Madison, it's 508 washington. Really cool venue to go see screamo/emo/hardcore/metalcore/punk bands, should check it out if you like any of thouse thanks for clearing that up, because my friend Andy's band is playing at the one is Madison I guess, he's in the band Until Tomorrow, playing tonight I believe there, may make it out not sure yet, but If you like emocore then you should make it to that show, hes an amazing bass player too. So yeah thanks though for clearing that up. peace -Ben
Man, I wish I could be there, but I'm halfway up the state, with my parents not letting me drive. :-(
Cuz our lead singer's from there! It was an interesting experience. All gear we had was borrowed, (except for the guitars) and we managed to get a pretty good sound. We had a bunch of Hell's Angels show up. Apparently, our venue was a biker bar. The sound was tight and we had fun. I was surprised to see that smoking in bars is still legal in Wisconsin. I thought it was a national law. I just got in and am waiting for American airlines to bring my bass. Apparently, it missed my connection flight in Chicago.
Yeah, it does suck that smoking is still allowed here...in bars that is. If I had my way, smoking would be prohibited everywhere. Anyways, what kind of rig did you play through?
A Fender BXR 100. It was miked to go through the P.A.. The guy had me crank it. The guitarists had an old Fender Bandmaster and some Randall combo. Also miked.
It's a Treker Louis Johnson 5, which is currently in the hands of American Airlines in transit to me.
