Sup all. I got turned on to this forum a couple of days ago. A friend of mine linked me to a thread grygrx started and I decided to join this group of fellow lo-noters. Great hang. I am one of those "13th generation" people born inbetwixed the baby-boom and gen-x. Into alot of different music, old-skoo prog .. Texas blues (ZZ/SRV) .. uh, Rush (okokok .. stop throwing things! I know already! ), a thing that used to be called "Fusion" (like the Dixie Gregs, and a band called Niacin). And funk. I didn't use to like funk, but it is REALLY fun stuff. I am so white it's ridiculous .. I have no funky bones .. when I dance I totally do The White Guy ... but all that said I still dig the funk And funk-rock is pretty cool too. Not a big fan, but stuff like RHCP .. that type of thing. Been playing bass on and off since '92 .. about a total of 8 years I guess. Gigged and recorded a lot. Last band was an 80's new-wave/post punk revival thing (stuff like New Order/Joy division and The Chameleons and The Smiths et al) called Ikonoki. Owned over 2 dozen basses .. Warwicks to Squiers. From Ampeg SVT/610hlf to Roland PA amps. We live in the Sonoran Desert Southwest, near the most arid city in the United States (our annual rainfall is less than 1 and 1/8th inches). You either love it or hate it here. I hit these shows along the way ...... Them were the days ..... Ok .. so enough self indulgence. Great forum, glad to be a part of it. I hope I am able to add to the large gathering of goodness in this place. Oh yea, I build these little pedals for a living. www.farndurk.com ... (but that's not why I'm here ) Thanks folks .... Brian Cale.
