    Up for sale is a Ric 3001 in Walnut. Just got this, but I prefer the tonal versatility of a 4001/4003. Serial #PH5583, which dates this back to August 1976. Players condition with a few nicks on the neck/body and some rash on the back & near the input jack. The silver tabs on the tone/volume knobs have fallen off at some point as shown in the photos. Also, one of the screws is missing from the input jack, and it was brought to my attention here that the pup cover is missing. Full scale, weighs in at 10.9 lbs on the bathroom scale. Pretty good condition for a 37 year old bass. I've seen these described as a "pissed off P bass"...and that's pretty accurate! Plays and sounds awesome! Comes with a Freedom by SKB case that fits it perfectly.

    truly beautiful!! but...the pickup looks non original? or is the cover simply missing?

    Sweet bass from a solid guy bump!

    I have had a chance to play this bass for a little bit and it felt great. Has a great tone too.

    I just bought one of these last month or so, also a '76 in Mapleglo for $1300 and it is a monster of a bass....loud as hell and great tone.
    Someone seriously needs to snatch this up for this price (+ these don't pop up very often) trust me, you'll love it.
