For sale is an all original 1981 G&L L1000 with excellent condition SKB molded case $750 shipped in the lower 48. Mahogany body with maple neck. Serial B005xxx date stamps 8/81 and 9/81. The bass is really funky. It is weather checked from end to end. Original slot pole pickup sounds phenominal. This bass has a great "old glove" feel to it. Unfortunately my current financial situation does not allow for more than one L1000 in the stable.

PM me with any questions or send me your email if you want high res pictures. Thanks!

The neck finish has a lot of player wear and is flaking in some spots on the headstock

This is definitely a player and needs to be in a players hands.

L1000: if I could have only one bass, that'd be it.
I lil bit o'P, a lil bit o'J, and a whole lot of smack-down with that 3 position coil tap.

    bump for a nice guy;)

For those who don't know, control layout is vol/treb cut/bass cut, and the dip switch is single coil, dual coil, single coil with bass boost...which is un-gawdly huuuuuge.

Man, if that was an early L2000e I'd be all over it. Gotta have the 2 pickups for me.

Lots of questions on the weight. I dont know exactly but I have a bass I know to be just under 10 lbs and they feel the same to me. I always thought mahogany was heavy until I got this bass. It was a pleasant surprise.

    Be back on Monday morning...

    Eh...what do you need?

I have a tasty Early 70s (black rockers) Ampeg B-25B that just got the output transformer replaced and also has new power tubes......:smug:

I would be tempted to let her go right now for the right L2Ke or a 70s SVT (plus a bunch of cash with the bass). A tall order I know. My GAS is more focused than ever these days.

All PMS replied, the L1000 is still available.
