Would it be possible to post some close-up photos of the neck/fingerboard wood? Looks like some really yummy maple.

  6. I hope these help.

Sorry to be picky... but that last set of photos are a little blurry. I seem to remember that in this particular era of Sting Rays, many were made using nicely figured maple necks/fingerboards. The top photos seem to show some figure in the neck and FB.

  9. Yeah the pics are kind of blurry. My camera is startin' to shoot craps on me so I'm gonna borrow a camera and try to get some pics up today.

I have owned quite a few 'Rays in my life and the 91 I had was one of the best playing, sounding and feeling basses I've ever had. The 96 was amazing as well. After that... well, let's just say, they aren't the same now.

This looks like an awesome bass. The wood in the neck looks hot, and if I were in the market for one, this would be the one.
It's from the days when they cared about how the basses sounded and played, not the size of the metalflake in the candy-super-extra-transgender-milkyway-blurple colored paint with the matching headstock.

  14. Thanks for the compliments! This is an awesome looking and sounding Bass. Someone is gonna be very happy:)

  15. Here are some clearer pics of the neck, etc.....

  16. That's a beaty! And the string mutes look intact as well. If I didn't have already way too many 'Rays and no cash at the moment, I'd buy this in a moment!

Man, there are entirely too many sweet basses on the block these days: oly white/pbasses, Skyline DJ4s, and now this SR. I feel like a kid in a candy store with only one nickel... :crying:
