SOLD FS: 1997/98 Fender American Standard Precision

I have a Black 1997/1998 Fender American Standard Precision Bass for sale.

Serial number N7XXXXXX (see photo)

This model has a string-through bridge, rosewood neck, modern F-stamped tuners. body and neck are both in good shape, very minimal wear. The neck has a fantastic feel to it and it plays great. original pickups and electronics, solid shaft pots and it will ship with all the knobs, despite missing one in the photo

mostly stock with the exception of the following:
-1 bridge saddle was replaced, the original is long gone, it was like that when i got it.
-I replaced the string retainer with a new 3-string retainer, i will include the original string retainer and screw.
-I swapped the stock white pickguard with a Fender mint-green pickguard but I will include the original pickguard.

I also have a Fender black pickguard on my other P-bass which i could swap out if thats more your thing. Looks really cool with the black on black. the mint-green looks more like an aged white guard and gives it a somewhat vintage look IMO.

non-original vintage case included. this case is great on the inside with a cool purple shag but the latches are busted at the hinges so its basically held together with duct tape. ive never had a problem with it that way but could probably replace the hinges

not sure on the exact weight but i believe ive seen the same model listed at 9lbs. The swirls in the first picture are fingerprints, not scratches or wear marks.

you will find this bass to be a great player, has nice low action and is ready to rock!

i should clarify that all 3 of the latches on the case are intact and working. the hinges are broken on the other side. ill try and upload some pics of the case soon.

 

im looking around and see other similar USA P's listed for considerably more. already got my fretless so hope someone jumps on this baby soon.

 

ive gotten alot more interest in my White Squier.

probably is a price point thing, people would rather save the dough and play a Squier then shell out the cash for the real thing.
