Career and freelancing (fortunately) is keeping me busy enough that I cannot gig as much as I want, so rather than compromise with lesser gigs with lesser musicians, i'm stepping away.

    2010 Big Al 5
White body, White Headstock, White Pearloid pickguard
(Also have a Tort pick guard for it)
    Rosewood neck
    Weighs in at 10.5 lbs.
    Strung with D'Addario XL's with Tapered B-string.

    No dents or dings.
    No scratches.
    No rubs or scuffs.

EBMM Hard case has never left the house.

This BA5 is sonically superior to another i owned. It's meatier and more sonically 'alive and present' than the other was. I purchased it about 6 months ago from a session player here in Nashville.

    $1350 Shipped and insured.

Wow, a beautiful bass at a great price. These Big Als are terrific, bump. They operate both active and passive. Passive mode, with tone control, is excellent.

I have a couple quick pictures of the white pick guard on my phone. I'll post once I get to work.

Well, no overseas to a user with no feedback.

Quality of buyer breeds faith in shipping.

Body shot with White Pickguard added.

Some interest from a France buyer, but I'm more comfortable with a state-side buyer with good feedback here.

  11. Nicest colour combination I've seen for these - wish I could spare the cash right now!

Low, can go lower. I've not had to touch/tweak the fretwork at all on it to get the action lower than I'm comfortable playing it. I'm sure if someone wanted it minuscule low they could have the frets really gone over or Plek'd and do whatever they wanted with it.

I consider it a bit lower than standard, but others that play my basses ( zachbass ) said the setup on my basses were to low for them. Just depends how aggressive your playing style is.

The noticeably lower than how my Brubaker Brute came to me from Donovan at Fretspot. I did a fret leveling on the Brute and it can go low now also, but where I like playing it is still not as low overall as the Big Al is.

And of course, if you don't want low... higher is of no problem.

How does this one compare to the Reflex? Any idea? I have a 25th Anniversary Refelx, but have always been interested in the Big Al.

Same preamp, neck, switching, etc. Just SSS vs either HH or HSS. More varied in it's tonal options in my opinion.
