so heres my beloved jazz. jazz basses just look so "right" to me that i keep buying them to relearn that they just dont work for me. this one is special. its a limited edition run of the american standard. its a hand stained red wine (alot like the gibson sg red) with a rosewood neck. it comes in the fender tsa case with the truss tool, cloth, key, AND the original pickups in the case. i loaded it with dimarzio area j's becausr they sound really close to stock but they are hum canceling. so it comes with the hum free pickups in it and the stock ones too. Nice setup and action. string thru body and lightweight tuners. it is in excellent condition with one tiny nick that is pictured and needed a flash to be captured. Plays awesome, sounds great, and looks killer!

[del]$1100 [/del] $1050.00 shipped and insured in the lower 48.

since these were a limited edition they were signed by the lead builder who did final inspection on them i believe.. or someone like that.... its the "authentification mark" for them.

    btw.. better pics coming tomorrow.

Not all the hand stained limited editions were signed...in fact most weren't. I have a P that is not signed. Yours was Jazz Bass #3 out of 150 and Jeff Allen is head of U.S. production in Corona!

PBasses "look right" to me and they work for me, Jazz basses don't, but...

Very sweet! I really like that a lot. And FWIW, I have Area J's on one of my Am. Std. Jazzes, and I love them. If I didn't already have 3 nice Jazzes, I'd probably give in to the temptation on this beauty...

well, probably cos they dont feel or sound like my stingrays. ;-) I always notice them while wearing one instead of feeling "one" with the instrument, and i guess i prefer the active tone to this passive tone in a mix. These sound great, but theres a certain something that always makes me grab my stingray for live shows and i dont like to "collect" basses i dont play out...

I think I understand. Have you tried an outboard pre like the tone hammer? Or an onboard like an audere or East?

no... I like to start with a bass thats voice just speaks to me as it is....
I keep trying to understand the Truths of the Passive Cult, but I guess Im no convert.

    oh.. and BUMP.

  19. BUMP for a local who is constantly moving Fenders that I want.

I have a 2011 G&L JB. Bone Stock. Black w/ Rosewood and painted to match headstock (your colors!!) If you wanna give the "other" West Coast Jazz Bass a shot, lemme know.

More growl then Fender MIA Pickups.
