  1. I had this on the block a short while ago and changed my mind and decided to keep it. In any case here it is again, it needs to go to a good home. Bob Frenz is a tremendously underrated builder from Columbus Ohio. His creations rival any of the big name boutique builders out there. This an absolute one of a kind, you will not see another one of these, ever. The headstock is one of the coolest designs I have ever seen. At one point I have owned 5 of his basses. If it wasn't for the fact I'm building my own creations I would still have them all. His bass building has acted as inspiration and building concepts for my own designs. I still wish I was half the builder Bob is. :)

    Here are the specs:
    36" scale Neck Thru
    Wings Zebrawood
    Neck Wenge/Zebrawood/Wenge
    12 lbs weight
Single Truss Rod with 2 Graphite Shafts
Ebony Fingerboard and Nut 2 3/8" at nut
    26 frets
    6100 (Jumbo) Frets
Kahler Bridge 17mm spacing at bridge
    Sperzel Tuners
    EMG-45P (neck) EMG-45DC (bridge)
    EMG-BQS (active electronics) EMG-PA2 (boost)
Stainless Steel Logo and Warbird Logo w/red led for eye, lights up when EMG-PA2 (boost) is activated
Comes in a nice custom made ATA flight case by cabbage cases.
A mp3 sound sample can be found right HERE. As always the sound clip was recorded flat straight into my sound card, no processing or EQ.
I am asking a very reasonable price of $1875 US.
I will include shipping and insurance for the full amount to continental (domestic) US addresses. International folks we can discuss a slight additional cost depending on where it's going.
Thanks for looking, and let me know if you have any questions. Check my feedback here as well as I have a lot of feedback on Ebay, I can PM you my nick over there if you want it.

having played Bob's basses for years at the ohio guitar shows I can attest to them being absolutely fantastic instruments. Why i never pulled the trigger on one I don't know. Somebody buy this thing!
  6. Thanks for the bump ModulusAcacia.
Any questions please let me know.
  7. And man I have to admit that Acacia for sale right now on here, is amazing and so tempting for me, so I know you have to be gassing for that ModulusAcacia. :) I'm trying to thin the herd for money, but TB makes it tough sometimes.
  8. A bump for your Tuesday. Is it me or are there some incredible 6 strings on sale here lately, well this is another one. :)

OMG!!!!!! I want this!!!!! But I only have $1400. DAMN!!!!
  12. Keep saving, I'm in no hurry. I'd rather have it go to someone that really wants to play a unique playing and sounding axe. :)
  13. Serious price reduction here folks, $1875 shipped to continental US.
    Any questions please contact me.
  14. is there a purpose to the pokey part on the end?
  15. Wow.

I can't remember when I've seen a more unique instrument. Prob'ly the first time I saw a Carl Thompson, and to me, this is FAR more interesting. If I had the bucks...
  16. I think the pokey part on the end is a nod to alembic actually.
Yeah I think it's more wacky than a Thompson, and in a good way. :)
    Thanks for the bump.

Gorgeous, but I just know i'd bust the tip off that beautiful headstock.
  18. Yeah you know I was always worried about that, but after me dealing with Wenge and Zebrawood, it would take a really hard hit to break that piece. Plus that flight case is all the protection it will ever need. :)
And yes I always liked that headstock design, very unique.
  19. Wednesday bump.
Come on, don't make me put this on Ebay.
  20. Keep it. I'm pretty sure you'd be super sorry once it goes. It looks so damn nice...
