Alembic F-1X purchased in November 2005 from G Guitars, only gigged four times in church. Will ship with original box.

Asking $600 shipped anywhere in US.

    Make me an Offer.

The only reason why I'm selling it is that I haven't been able to find a dealer in my area that stocks all of the gear I'm interested in. I have a list of pre's that I want to own before I focus on a preamp that has "my sound". I had an SVP-Pro before this one, so now I want to try one of the Demeter models. Who knows, maybe I'll re-buy another one, but I just want to try some other preamps. Weird, ain't it?

You ought to try the Epifani Quest pre, MF is selling them for $499. There's a thread about it, "Quest pre's discontinued" something like that.

You can get sounds from an F1-X that you can't get from any other pre that I've heard. I havn't tried the quest, but it'd be a mighty tall order actually taking down an F1-X. The quest might be the flavor of the day, but the F1-X has been kicking ass for decades!

Is the F1-X good for Upright Bass.

    with the electric gigs.

I don't play upright, but the F-1X is very flexible once you get used to the controls. There are a ton of sounds you can get from it.
