For sale is a brand new uninstalled B-Band D1 upright bass pickup system.

I got two of these but only needed one. I was going to save the second one for a spare, but I have decided to sell it to try the new magnetic pickup for upright bass from Villex.

The new version did not change names, as the D1 that was out a few years back has the same title, but this one is WAY better. The problem with the original pickup was the op-amps at the end of each sensor. They would easily break if bumped or accidentally flexed, which would cause the system to hum loudly through your amp. Fortunately, B-Band has rectified this problem and the new D1 has a sensor that is more flexible durable, without the problematic op-amps attached to each sensor. I haven't experienced any issues with my new one that is currently on my bass, so I think selling this extra one that I have makes the most sense.

For more details, the system has three sensors, two for the bridge wings (like the Underwood) and one underneath the bridge foot (like the David Gage). The sensors are not actually piezo elements, they are a film that produces a signal (more info can be found on the B-Band website). Installation is fairly easy and explained in the instruction manual. The wing sensors can be blended with the foot sensor through a tiny trimpot that is accessible on the jack with a mini screwdriver. The sound of this pickup can be described as warm, tight, not brittle, and a nice midrange emphasis. It is very quiet and the sound guys always compliments me with this pickup. It is not as boomy as the Fishman Full Circle, and not as brittle as the Underwood. It has way more definition and growl than the Gage. The pickup requires a 9V battery, but there is a battery holder that velcroes to the back of the tailpiece.

Please check my feedback and buy with confidence. Again, this is the NEW version of the D1. It was a replacement for my Statement system that was messed up due to the fragile placement of the op-amps. I have two of these an only need one. The pickup is brand new, unopened, uninstalled. Just to reiterate, the new version is not fragile like the original D1 and Statement, it has been redesigned to last.

These go for 240 Euros. I'm asking $315 US shipped via PayPal. The only place you can buy these is direct from B-Band. I think my price is lower than 240 Euros after the currency conversion. I want to keep the price just a bit lower than B-Band's price, so let me know if I'm in the right ball park.

Pics can be seen on the B-Band site. I can take some pics of my bass with it installed and of the packaged pickup if necessary. Let me know!

Price change: $240 plus shipping (it's small and light so it shouldn't be much)

My original price was based on 240 Euros, but it appears these are $240 USD. But be sure you are not buying a NOS of the original version. Mine is the newer version, uninstalled.

Here's a pic of the older-style D1 with the op-amps at the end of the sensors:

Here's the new style of D1 with the redesigned sensors:

What I have is the 2nd one, it's brand new in a box. I have two and only need one. It's a great pickup!

    Hello fellas,

I had two of these babies when I first posted this. I sold one and the buyer loves it. Now I have the other one up for sale. Please PM with offers. I will trade only for David Gage Realist Lifeline with the larger opening (it's for my Kolstein bass).
