cool--when active and both PUPs engaged, what does it sound like? Super modern or more traditional boosted with some preampage? Nice bass!

Sounds great. A little deeper and more refined than the two jazz pup model. Preamp is extremely flexible and can really help the HB sing when solo-ed.

What is the difference in tone between the HB and a jazz pup in the bridge position?

No hum when soloed, a bit deeper/fuller tone.

Just spent some time with both the double J SB4000 and this one. Tones are very similar with this being a bit louder. Both sound amazing.

Having second thoughts about selling this one........
