I may unload this soon in favor of a 5-string version of the same bass. I love this bass to death, but I own zero fivers and 7 four-strings. I figure, if I can get the same bass in a 5, I'll be more versatile.

***UPDATE: SOUND CLIPS ADDED - scroll down to first reply message for links***

Here's the scoop. Peavey Millenniums come and go, but I've only ever seen TWO USA Peavey birdseye maple Millenniums. These are hard to find. As you can see, this one is gorgeous. The combination of blue flame, birdseye maple, and sparkling abalone fret markers make it a work of art. It also sounds like a bass twice the price. The best thing about Peavey Millenniums is that they sit perfectly in the mix - whether live or recorded. You can get any tone of the spectrum with this EQ.

    Specs/details:

Neck/board: Highly figured birdseye maple with birdseye maple fretboard. Beautiful abalone dot inlays that sparkle like jewels (my photos fail to capture this.)
    Ultra Satin finish on neck
    35" scale
    21 fret neck.
Reduced mass "mini" bass machine heads, with D-tuner.
One J and one humbucker pickup
On-board active 3-band EQ with bass boost/cut (10db) and sweepable mids
    Black hardware.
    Fully shielded electronics.
Quadra Just(tm) Hipshot milled bridge - 3 way adj
    Black Schaller strap locks.
    Peavey hardshell case

This bass was made in 2002. There are some tiny minor flaws. Nothing that noticeable. One little wear spot on the upper horn. A few light body scratches. There are also some odd scratches on the pickup covers. It almost looks like somebody took a #2 lead pencil to the humbucker. Not particularly noticeable except up close. Does not affect playability or sound in the least. Other than that, it's very clean. The case is in pretty good shape too. I had black Schaller straplocks installed to match the other hardware.

I'll take $550 shipped in the lower 48 United States. I don't really need to sell this so I'm probably not going to wiggle on the price. The thing I will miss the most about this bass is the gorgeous birdseye maple. As you can see from the pictures, the figuring is quite impressive.

The only trade I will consider is a birdseye maple Peavey Millennium 5-string. Must be birdseye.

Sound clips added. Sorry, Rapidshare is pretty slow but that's the best I could do. These were recorded on a cheap-o Fostex digital 8-track, and are kind of quiet, so I recommend listening through headphones.

The 5-string version of this bass that I was hoping to buy is no longer available. So I am going to keep my 4-string for now. Closing thread.

Even though this thread was closed, just wanted to update. This Millennium will be sold as of Wednesday. I managed to score a 5-string version and then finagle a local deal for my 4-string. I've had a few inquiries so I just wanted to update this thread.
