I am reluctant to sell this bass, but since I am definitely thinking about it, here it is.

A 2006 Modulus Funk Unlimited 5 string. (AKA Flea Jazz 5)
    Highly figured Quilted maple top,
    Sienna Finish,
    Bartolini pups,
    Bartolini NTMB pre,
    Dunlop strap locks,
    and a Fender thumb rest.

I changed all the hardware to black when I bought the bass brand new. I find the black is a lot more eye catching than the original chrome. It has one very small ding on the back of the neck as well as a few on the back of the body. The front of it is pretty dang clean though.

The fact it has a very nice maple top, J pups, and great electronics should differentiate it from most Modulus Funk Unlimited (AKA Flea Bass) models in terms of price. It shouldn't make the price much lower at all than a Mint single humbucker plain Jane one.

    $1500 shipped!

I was thinking the same thing. I rest on the pickup myself. What if I can't get use to playing it with that on. Taking it out won't look too nice.

  10. Well, you COULD buy a brand new one without the thumbrest for about twice as much as the asking price on this one! Still a good deal.

Exactly! Make an offer if you'd hate the thumb rest that much.

The funny thing is, I use the floating thumb technique, and the rest just makes everything nice and even feeling when playing on the B string. Much the way Gary Willis uses the ramp. I don't anchor on it, just use it for better feel on the B string, it doesn't inhibit anything.

Some people would put a bumper sticker on a Cad. Escalade, so to each his own. I do not recall seeing any thumb rests on any new manufacturers' basses. No foul meant, hopefully this will help him in the future. Resale value is a very important factor when I buy a bass. As I said before, good luck with your sale.

Again, if the thumb rest is that big of a deal, make an offer. If anything it has made playing on the B string much more consistent and comfy believe me. Make an offer.
