For sale: 2011 US Lakland 44-51, serial number #1. Yes, this is the NAMM bass! Yup, the same one that is photographed with James "Hutch" Hutchinson, John Stirratt and also signed by Uriah Duffy.

I just got this bass from another TB'r and LOG member in a trade, but the slab body is just not my thing. Otherwise, this is probably one of the finest Laklands I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Great neck feel and balances very nicely. The back of the neck has a bit of flame to it with a birdseye maple board and ebony markers.

Minor player wear, nothing to speak of except a single small ding about two inches to the right of the string ferrules on the back. I will also include a set of chrome Dunlop strap pins.

    Specs
    Nut Width: 1.625" (Bone)
Neck Width at Final Fret 2.48"
    1st Fret Neck Depth .87"
    Fingerboard Radius: 10"
    Scale Length: 34"
    Frets: 20
    Bridge String Spacing: 0.78"
Neck Wood: Quarter-Sawn Rock Maple with Graphite Reinforcement Bars
    Body Wood: Swamp Ash
    Slab Body
Fingerboard: Birdseye Maple with Ebony Dots
Tuners: Hipshot Tapered Shaft, Reverse Gearing
    Optional Hipshot D-Tuner Installed
    Pickguard: Black Single-Ply
    Controls: Volume/Tone
    Pickups: Lakland Vintage Single Coil
    Case: Lakland Cream Case

Asking [DEL]$2300.00[/DEL] $2199.00 (buyer pays shipping) via FedEx Home/Ground insured in the ConUS. No International. PayPal preferred.

I had #13 and it KILLED. but the slab body wasn't exactly my thing either. Still, this is tempting because the bass was THAT awesome!

I know what you mean the tone just kills with the single coil - which is dead silent BTW - in the sweet spot. Very tough call on my part because of this. But, given my right shoulder issues, ergonomics wins out.

Not really interested in trades at this point, but I could change my mind at any time ;)

For me, it was the angle that my arm went over the edge of the body. Playing a little lower would have solved the problem, but I wasn't ready to change my strap height for one bass :) other than that, it kill kill killed. I really loved the nut width, and the maple fretboard was exactly what this bass needed for sound. SO GOOD!

GLWTS, if I didn't have my sights on another it might be mine...

    Thanks Markus.

BTW - I just put a new set of Fender 7250's on the bass that I had laying around. I'm also not a flats guy ;)

Sounded great with the flats on it. Like you said, really pushes some air, but like the Doude, I prefer some zing!

Just played this again last night, can't believe the tone that erupts out of this thing.

I had to make sure you really wanted me to sign it- I hope I didn't de-value it or anything! That was a SWEET bass- I'd love to have it. I just don't think I'd put it to use the way it deserves though. Good luck (and thanks for posting the pics)!

No worries Uriah, I don't think your signature diminishes the value in any way. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, glad you liked the pics.

I know, why couldn't it have been left black :(

Did I mention, it comes with an original cream Lakland case? These are getting harder to come by.
