If you're looking for something like this, I'm telling ya, this is the one!
    '51 P RI neck (japan)
    '54 Sting body
String through bridge w/4 saddle adjusts
Lindy Fralin single coil ("split, so no noise!!!)
Weighs under 8 lbs, but no noticeable neck dive.
    It's a beaut.
I'm back to my jazz, and would like to keep this one together because it's perfect!
Some light scratching on the neck plate, but that's it.
Nut measures at 1.61 by my ruler
HSC (scuffed, but otherwise in great condition), extra PG (Jeannie's) and I'll string with the Roto flats or D'A nickels and include which ever I don't string up
    [DEL]$650.00[/DEL] $625.00 shipped CONUS paypal

Do you mind if I ask did you just take delivery of this bass? I saw exactly lthis about a month ago on here... While I'm looking for something just like this that worries me a little.

I don't have sound clips. Don't know where the other P bass above came from. I got the 51/54P off here 2-3 months ago. It's the most "perfect" bass I have. However, in my ongoing struggle to reduce the number of basses I own, and put my GAS on hold for a year or so, I'm trying to only keep basses that differ from one another from a sound perspective. My jazz with the neck pickup soloed (J. Barden pickups) sounds pretty darn close the the fralin in the 51 P, so as much as I like the look of the this bass, I can't justify keeping it. I don't think anyone who wants an original style P bass would be disappointed at all, both from a looks and sound perspective, and it's light as well!

Thanks, Flewis- and a fine bass I got from you!
Curious to see if any explanation follows on the P bass above...
