For sale is a Fender Classic 50's Precision bass in honey blonde with vintage style Fender black tolex hard shell case. Pickups have been swapped to 2012 American Standard Custom Shop. CTS pots and Switchcraft jack. Parchment American Standard Precision pickguard. Strings are LaBella deep Talkin 45-105.

First off, this is a players bass. It contains the swirling and scratches that accompany it but are hard to photo due to color. Some paint has chipped away where the pickguard screws in around the cavity but isn't visible from outside. It has been drilled for both pickup and ashtray bridge covers in the correct places. Cap has been swapped from a .1uf to a .047uf and I personally think its better this way, but it can be changed to stock value if requested. The D string tuner is a bit stiff but can probably be adjusted or greased. I'd rate the body a 7/8 on a 1-10 scale of wear.

Playability wise, Its fantastic. Low action and no excessive buzzing. Truss rod is good and neck is not twisted or warped. It's a vintage tone machine. Thick, old school tone with the CS pickups and Labella flats. I always get compliments on its playability and tone from other players who try it. The case is a vintage style Fender black tolex with red plush lining. I purchased it in 2013. Has a few marks but is structurally sound and still in great shape.

The bass isn't a boat anchor. I would say its between 8/9lbs max. I don't like heavy basses.

That's basically it in a nutshell. What you see is what you get. I would most certainly be keeping it if it weren't redundant at this point, as I recently got another Precision bass. Sounds great and plays great. This would be the perfect bass for anyone looking to add a solid, vintage style Precision to their stable for much less than a new one. Anyone that owns a Classic 50's can testify to their quality. These features cannot be found on another Precision at this price, which is $749 new and doesn't come with a Fender hard shell case!

This is strictly to sell or acquire another bass so any trades would have to include shipping or add cash for me to send it out. Its my backup bass and yes, I know Ill regret selling it (this is the third 50's P Ive owned) so I'm in no huge rush to sell below the the posted price. Im interested in jazz basses or anything different from a Precision! Lets see what you got:)

    Price: $575

Ashtray covers and choice of DR Sunbeam 45-100, Fender Pure Nickel 45-100 or Fender Nickel plated steel 45-100 rounds included. Strings are all trial strings I used to see if I liked rounds. That means they were on the bass for about an hour.

    Some more info:
This bass has a 1.75 nut width and 7.25 fingerboard radius. Vintage style threaded bridge and vintage reverse tuners with the smaller vintage frets. The frets are in very decent shape on account that this bass was used primarily with flats. C shaped neck. It has a nice, shallow thickness front to back that makes it super easy to play.

I'll be out of town the 23rd to 27th of this month so the bass would ship out Monday the 27th or Tues the 28th for whomever is interested.

I've had some very interesting trade offers. I'd also be into an Allen Woody sig or Jack Cassady with good necks/bridges/cases.

Considering pulling this until I get back, at which point I may part it out or hit my local CL. The offer stands until Friday. I have someone local with an offer on the case and pickups, but I'd prefer to ship it with the case and pups intact if someone takes it here.
  10. what do you have in mind cash wise without the case and pickup?

I really can't say until I'm sure this person will take the case. I'm trying to sell it on TB as a whole unit because shipping the case will cost most or half of what I can get for it online. I'd much rather leave it intact to be honest than go through the trouble of parting it out, but I will if I sell the case locally. I'd also feel more comfortable shipping with the case for protection.

Local deal fell through on case so I'm just going to leave everything intact. I forgot to mention the bass comes with Dunlop strap lock pegs attached.
