The Fender Custom shop makes some of the finest basses available in the market today -- as close as you could want to a true vintage classic at an affordable price and without the risk of structural damage, faulty electronics, or outright fraud. This bass is a great example of the amazing work coming out of the Custom Shop. It is a 2001 limited edition P-J bass, made in the style of an early-mid 50's P-bass. Gorgeous vintage transparent blond with a black pickguard, maple neck & fingerboard, stack-knob controls, low action and incredibly smooth-playing neck. Great P vibe with the added flexibility of a J pickup. This was a Limited Edition model and the only way you'll get one today is via special order from the Custom Shop at a price of $3k+. Comes with original Certificate of Authenticity (signed by Mike Eldred, who runs the Custom Shop) and a beautiful G&G tweed hardshell case that really sets off the bass (see pics below).

Condition of this bass is pretty much flawless -- a tiny bit of unnoticable pick scratching on the pickguard, otherwise this is mint. Originally listed for $3,000, with a street price of $2,500, you can own this baby for $1,700, which includes insured UPS ground shipping in the continental U.S. Payment via U.S. postal money order or cashiers check -- or I'll take PayPal if you pick up the 3% fee. NO TRADES PLEASE - I'm selling this bass only because I have too many basses, so a trade does me no good at all (if I wanted an unplayed bass, this is the one I'd want!).

At the request of a prospective buyer, I took this beauty to UPS to weigh it today. Came in at a comfortable 8.9 lbs.
