I bought this preamp to put in my Eshenbaugh singlecut, to truly make it Foderaesque, but I'm selling my Eshenbaugh; so I think I'm going to let the preamp go too. These are super rare. The only way to get a Pope onboard preamp is to have him build you one custom for a ton of $$$. Mike Pope is a super nice guy and he offered to install this in my Eshenbaugh for $80, in case anyone is interested in both. I believe this was taken out of a mid-90's Fodera Emporer, but it may have been a Monarch. These preamps have a ton of headroom and are very, very versatile. It also comes with the original knobs that Fodera uses with these. I forgot to mention, this preamp also has a passive tone control stacked with the volume.

Price: $345 shipped, which is waaaay lower than a new one.

Further Price Drop: $245 shipped. This is the lowest price I have ever seen on one of these.

Phishaholik -- if it is the one that you bought from me, it came out of a 1996 Monarch Elite and sounds killer!

  3. What are the functions of knobs and switches? Are the knobs all fixed to the boards?

Thanks for the help guys :D I believe that one of the switches is an active/passive switch and the other is a kill switch. The pots are soldered onto the board. I talked to Mike Pope about this and he said it would be no problem for any skilled electronics repairman to take the pots off and put them on leads so it can fit any hole placement scenario. Mike said he would charge about $80 to install it in a bass with different hole placements, which is what I was going to do with my Eshenbaugh.

  10. Is there a preferred set of pickups for this preamp?

I don't believe there are certain pickups that are preferred with this preamp as Fodera uses this preamp with a variety of brands and type of pickups. I have an outboard version of this preamp and it works great with everything that I've used it with.

I've had a couple people ask me this, so I thought I would post. This is definitely a Pope preamp and not a Hazlabs. I showed pictures to Mike Pope and he said it is one of his older single-board designs. Just wanted to clarify for everyone.

Further Price Drop to $245 shipped!!!!!!

    Thanks
