    Hi there,

Up for sale is an all original roadworn king! If you're looking for a museum piece, you should look elsewhere :smug: if you want a bass with character that sounds fantastic and looks great on stage, this is the perfect bass for you!

The serial number on the bass is 411*** which dates it to either 1973 or '74. There are many dings, nicks, and scrapes as well as buckle rash and some finish checking. It isn't thrashed, but it has definitely been played! The tuners have some rust and the E string tuner is a little bent. Holds tune great though, no issues! 1 5/8" Nut width, with a nice typical fat P Bass neck. Weighs around 9.3 lbs, not a back breaker! This bass seriously sounds great! I have used this bass recording everything from Motown, to folky singer songwriter type music to Hillsong praise music and this bass ALWAYS gets tons of love on the tone. Tone for days! The frets appear to be original with no dead spots, no deep grooves and are in decent shape considering their age. Ships in the original case. The case is pretty trashed, but it comes with a replacement latch from the 70's that you could install (I'll take pics of the case later) and make it more usable. Otherwise, you'll need a new case, but hey, the original case does exist! :)

As far as trades, I would much prefer an outright sale. I would, however, trade for a MIM Fender 50's Precision bass in black or 2 tone sunburst plus cash from you, also would possibly trade for a 70's Greco Thunderbird copy plus cash. Those are really the only trades I am looking for at the moment.

Asking 2100 shipped obo. Paypal is a-OK. More pictures available upon request.

Only 9.3 lbs... That is light for an ash body from '73.

    Sweet P bump.

Also comes with a really old Fender strap. Not sure if it's original, but it's pretty old and looks period correct to 20 year old me :p

Here is also an old Grover case latch to put on. This would make the case pretty usable.

No love for the '73 bump? None of the wear is through to the wood, just to the clear sealer coat underneath. I might have sounded a little overly critical of the condition in my original post, the bass is in fine shape, it's just a typical well played 40 year old bass! Feels like an old bass should!
