1993 Ken Smith Burner 6 Swamp Ash Body (if you saw this add earlier, Im no longer selling the bass with John East electronics) Hey guys here's a good one. This series of burner basses were made in Japan and "finishing work" was done at Ken's shop in PA...Great tone, craftsmanship, and in excellent condition. 16.5mm string spacing at bridge, I have no idea what the spacing is at the nut, but the spacing along the fingerboard is wider than what you would expect from a (16.5mm @bridge bass, if that makes sense The weight is 10.3 lbs ( I'll know exactly a little later today and will edit if needed. 34" scale with a super tight low B...I actually tune down to A and its thunderous with tremendous clarity. All the frets are in excellent condition and no dead spots on the neck. The only negative comment about this bass is that previous owner made a second hole for the strap near the base of the body(pictured). The only trades I'm interested in are as follows: 5 string Jazz basses with maple fingerboards, 5 string PJs $750 shipped with OHSC Pm or text if interested 618 980 3904 Jordan http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/
Do you know the weight of this bass? Also, what is the string spacing at the bridge, and is this spacing at all adjustable for spacing between the strings? I have been looking for a comfortable 6-string bass with reasonably narrow (16-17mm) string spacing for close to a year, and would be very interested in this one if the spacing and weight are in my preferred range. Thanks, Doug ("funkyjudge")
hey doug, thanks for the inquiry the string spacing at the bridge is 16.5mm and the weight of the bass is 10.3lbs
I love that string spacing, but unfortunately the weight would just kill my surgically-repaired left shoulder. Thanks so much for the quick reply! Doug
