Up for sale are my Ampeg SVT-5 and my AccuGroove El Whappo. The SVT-5 was bought used at the Atlanta Guitar Center and is still in great shape. I must admit that I was weary about buying used gear from Guitar Center, but I took the plunge and the amp works like a champ. I havent had a single problem with it since Ive owned it and these amps are becoming somewhat rare being that Ampeg only manufactured them for one or two years. In case youre unfamiliar with the amp (and simply perusing TB for more things to add to the GAS list), its basically a supercharged SVT-4 with an overdrive channel, octave circuit, and slightly more power. Included is a Crate footswitch that toggles the two channels, the mute function, and the octave circuit. I'll also include the specially wired speakon cable that you must have in order to run full power in bridge mode (just to make the transaction a little easier). $650 OBO plus shipping As far as the El Whappo is concerned, I bought it new from the Atlanta Bass Gallery in August of 05. Its the original model with the AccuSwitch. Ive played maybe 100 shows with it since then and its been a workhorse every gig. Not even a chance of this cabinet letting you down. SOLD! As far as shipping goes, I ship worldwide, but you must be willing to pay the very high international shipping costs. Ive never toured either of these pieces and the SVT has been rack-mounted since the day I brought it home. Being that I just secured the rig I'll be using for my upcoming tour, I'm no longer accepting trades for either of these pieces. I'm looking to sell these items as quick as possible, so I dropped the prices of both items in the hopes of doing just that. I usually check PMs more often than individual threads, so PM me if you want to expedite our communication. Thanks for looking!
PM's replied. Since I'm trying to sell this gear ASAP, I wanted to let everyone know that if a TB'er doesn't want either of these pieces, they'll inevitably end up on eBay. Both prices are OBO though, so don't hesitate to make an offer.
Just wanted to bump and say that both items are still available. If they don't sell soon, they will inevitably go on eBay. Thanks for looking!
I have an Ampeg catalog from 2005. No 5 Pro that year. Can you tell me more about it, I just got a 6 Pro last week, just curious. Free bump anyway.
The SVT-5 is (was) basically a supercharged SVT-4. It has a little bit more power, an overdrive channel that can be run in stereo (essentially giving you two separate amps), an octave channel, and enough patching options on the back to make you actually read the manual. Speaking of the SVT-5, I wanted to make one last post about it because I'm going to put it up on eBay tonight. If you're seriously considering buying this amp from me, please let me know soon.
