Loads of fun with this bass. The fanned frets are easy to get used to. Truly! The comments from the bandmates and the people in the crowd are fun. The tone possibilities are all over the place. Instead of volume/volume or volume blend, there is a volume, switch, and passive tone roll-off. The pickup switch has four positions: neck alone, bridge alone, both in serial, and both in parallel. This one has a little wear on the surface near the neck pickup, but hardly noticeable. There is some wear on the frets, again hardly noticeable.

The fanned frets give you 37" string length on the low B, and the usual 34" on the high G. Longer length gives you tighter string, which makes the low strings much less floppy than a standard 5-er.

I'm interested in a Nordy VJ5, or a Sadowsky 5 for trade. I'll throw in some cash to even it up, but I don't have a whole lot of room on that.

$1550 shipped in the USA, paypal preferred.

AGH! This was my number two choice finish when I shopping around for my ABZ. First was autumnburst. I actually bought mine from another TB'er who was getting a high-end 5-string Jazz.

String spacing is 18mm at the bridge, wide but comfortable. Necks are relatively narrow (I'd describe as a Jazz neck, but sharing some characteristics with an Ibanez). Easily the most comfortable extended-scale bass in the world.

I played one identical to this one at bass central. I dig it. Let me know if you want to work something out.

Lumpdaddy: I don't know enough about the Hanewinckle Bass. There is very little discussion on them here on TB. Interesting though. Very nice looks. I'm a sucker for blocks and binding and birds eye maple fretboards. But I need more to go on at this point.

    Blueswalker: Passive.

The lightest, most comfortable bass I've played is my ABZ 5.

Check out the Hanewinckel website. He makes great stuff. On par with Elrick and Fbass in my opinion. http://www.hguitars.com/

The Han and DW ABZ have the most comfortable gently "rolled" necks on the market. I speak from experience as I've owned both.

Just my 2 cents and best wishes with the sale!

    Enjoy this bass, justbark!
