    Greetings!

Just picked this up a few weeks ago, but I've really decided that I need a nice Jazz-style Bass, and I've got plenty of other basses with humbuckers, so I'll throw it up and see what nibbles.

This is an Elrick Gold Classic 5 made in 2004. It has a Spalted Maple top, Swamp Ash back, maple neck, and wenge board. Bart/Bart electronics and Hipshot hardware. It's in great shape with very little wear anywhere that I can find except for some light "worming" on the back. Aside from that, almost LN. Weighs about 8.5 pounds or less!

Comes with the Elrick-branded DELUXE gray case.

Previous owners thread and pix here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=540737&highlight=elrick+gold

In response to the neck pocket issue that the previous owner talks about, I e-mailed Rob Elrick about it and here's his response:

That actually is the result of body flex, not neck flex. A couple years ago I changed the way I construct the neck so that the neck pocket is not as deep. This has solved the body flex problem found on instruments with softer / lightweight swamp ash bodies. Of course this does nothing to help you (your bass was built in 2004), but what you have is not really a functional issue. It really does not need to be addressed for functional purposes and will likely not get worse.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Sale price would be QUICK SALE PRICE of $1650 OBO shipped CONUS, paid via cash, USPS Money Orders or PayPal eCheck. If you've got great feedback, I'll certainly consider a personal check and wait to ship until it clears. I'll drive pretty much anywhere with a circle encompassing DFW, Shreveport, Tupelo, Memphis, Tulsa, or Springfield, MO, to deliver if I get enough notice and you're not in too big of a hurry. Have to work a trip around my real job!

For trades -- ACTIVE FIVERS with stacked humbuckers only please! Greatly prefer rosewood, ebony, morado, or exotic boards, but I'll consider basses with maple boards and blocks.

I'm looking for even trades or trades that net me some cash back. Can't add much cash, but will consider it for a really nice/unique piece. I'd consider anything from a Fender Deluxe Jazz 5, to an upgraded Lakland JO/DJ5 Skyline to all Sado Metros w/VTC, Valenti, Nordy, Lull, etc. Slight preference given to Oly White, tort, and rosewood w/blocks. I'll also consider non-typical Jazz body stlyes with Big Splits or FatStacks.

    Any interest? Lemme know!

Bump for a couple of possibilities. Hit me up with some more!

I'd also consider a nice Roscoe, preferably an SKB-3005.

Trades anybody? Really looking for a nice Jazz 5, but I'll certainly consider anything. Cash +/- as necessary, of course.

Pretty sure that it's 19mm....all the Elricks I've ever had were. Certainly feels like it.

REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE because something I've been GASSING for just came back up.

$1650 SHIPPED CONUS at least until the bass I'm looking at sells. If it sells, I'll rethink the price.

I'd say organic and woody...in a wenge sort of way. Focused in the mids.

All trades considered....especially Nordy VJ5, Lulls, and Sado Metro 5ers.

And again, I'll consider trades plus your cash. Maybe even a "2-fer". And I could throw in a bass, cash, or gear, in order for me to trade up as well.

I really, really like this bass, but I played an Fbass the other day and it was like a dream..

This is cheaper, but I have never played an Elrick, but I have heard many clips.

Im in a bit of a pickle!

    Free bump, either way!

I've never played an Fbass, but Elricks are super sweet. I've owned tons of basses and Elrick is the only builder I would ever buy brand new.

Hey Crawford, you should most definitely buy it. I've never played an Fbass but I can tell you I would buy it back if I had the means to do so. I'm definitely going to own an Elrick again. Beautiful bass. I miss her so!:bawl:

After some serious soul-searching this morning, I'm thinking that trades should prolly only look or sound like something Fender, such as:
    • Metros
    • Lakland upgraded JO5/DJ5 (with cash from you)
    • Lulls
    • Nordys
    • Pedulla JJ Raptures (cash from you)
    • Pedulla MVP in JJ
    • Maybe a 55-94/55-02 (cash from you)
    • Fenders
    • Elricks in JJ config
Fivers only please! Oly white is high on the priority list; 3-Tone Burst low on the list. Rosewood or ebony pretty much a must.

    Thanks!
