Well, before I get too attached to this beauty I'd like to see what kind of interest people have in it.

This is an amazingly beautiful 1997 G&L L2000 in Trans Green. This finish was a premium option and is not one that you see very often at all. It is an absolutely beautiful finish on an equally good looking piece of ash. The body has some really interesting figuring on the front near the middle- quite different.

The neck is a wide but flat profile; 1 11/16" at the nut, but thin front to back which is very comfortable. This is my personal favorite G&L neck profile, it reminds me of my '82 L2000E. It has a sort of semi-gloss finish that is quite nice for moving around.

Overall condition is very nice. It has been outfitted with a new bridge, new knobs, and new electronics cover for the bass all from G&L- the old hardware had pitted from lack of use. With the these additions, you can scarcely tell it was ever played. There are a few dings and scratches that are hard to notice due to the nature of the finish, though the "worst" is a pen-tip-sized nick in the front near the bridge- Nothing major.

Everything works as it should, it is set up well, and plays great. Weight is about 9.5lbs, and it balances very well. It is an awesome bass overall and I have no problem keeping it, but I am always on the hunt for new and exciting things.

The original G&L hardshell case is also in very good condition. (Still has the signature maple syrup smell of a new G&L case)

Sale price is [DEL]$900[/DEL] [DEL]$875[/DEL] $850 Shipped in ConUS

[DEL]Trade value is a bit higher. In terms of trades, I am very open to offers, but am always interested in funky and different one off creations or "custom" basses. Warwick, Spector, and EBMM are also at the top of my "want to try" list. Feel free to throw anything at me though![/DEL]
An EBMM Bongo 4 (H or HH) would be the only trade I'm interested in right now

    On to the eye candy:
(Just to be clear, the reflections on the body are not on the bass, just my tree reflecting on the mirror-like finish :D)

Unless you used to live in Oregon, that's not the specific bass I used to own, but all the specs, color, and even year are the same as one I used to own. It's the only bass I ever regret selling. GLWTS!

I haven't lived in Oregon, but this bass certainly could be your old one. I can see myself regretting the sale in the future too! Its a great bass.

  5. Hi,

Gorgeous bass there! Trans green with a maple board L2000 is on my wish list! Are you interested in a trade for a trans red L2500? I just posted an ad here last night. Have a great day and TGIF!

Bump for a great looking bass! I have one exactly like that except with a rosewood fingerboard. Very eye-catching.

    GLWTS!

    Thanks, it is beautiful.

The trade is tempting, but I'm not a five string player, so I am going to have to pass. Thanks for the offer!

It would be nice next to my cherryburst L 1500.

Feel free to make an offer. This needs to move for a Bongo, so I can be flexible!

For sure. The only reason It's going is because I've got my pride and joy '82 L2000E to cover the same sounds. They're amazing instruments.

I just picked up a transparent red fretless w/ ebony neck, and you are right, these basses can do everything but play themselves! Sending you a pm about your hardware from G&L....

Everything but the tuners is new, and all of the wiring has been beautified, it might as well be new!

I just sold an SB-2 in this color, this finish is gorgeous. As nice as it looks in pictures, ten times nicer in person. If this is still here in a couple of weeks I may have to grab this one.......
