Well, I'm doing that thing that us TB'ers do too often. I'm selling what is hands down the most impressive instrument I have ever owned in order to fund another Fodera dream purchase.

For sale I have a gorgeous Emperor 5 bolt on. I purchased the bass from Austin Bass traders almost 2 years ago and I haunt been able to gig anything since, as it would seem like a compromise in regards to playability and tone, no matter what the music style. She plays amazingly, sounds like you'd expect a Fodera to and will make you giddy every time you walk by her or take her for a spin.

In excellent shape with only a small impression on the back of the neck behind the 3rd fret and a scuff/ding on the top of the headstock as cosmetic issues. The tone and volume pots are a little scratchy, but I will have that dealt with before shipping or bringing her to a buyer.

The ONLY reason I am even considering this sale is that I have always been obsessed with the Imperial body shape and have the opportunity to buy one locally. For that reason, this is a for sale only thread, with only a couple specific exceptions.

    Specs:
    5 string bolt on construction
    19mm spacing at the bridge
    34 inch scale
    Alder body
Insane quilted maple top "sausage quilt" was the label when i purchased it
    Duncan/Fodera dual coil pickups
Gold hardware with recessed dunlop strap locks
Pope 3 band preamp with active passive, coil tap and mute switches(can be wired for mid frequency selections as well)
    rosewood fret board
    3 piece maple neck
24 frets, guessing they are medium size
    capable of insanely low action

    Trades plus cash:
An American '62 reissue P bass in sunburst/tort/rosewood
Sadowsky Metro PJ 4 in the same configuration
    Maybe a decent ply upright
possibly a vintage P with the same exact specs, but I need to net at least 5,000 on the deal.

Included will be the Fodera teardrop hardshell case, all the case candy and gold dunlop strap locks

Asking 6600 shipped in the lower 48.

Now for some porn, with even more to follow:

Might be looking to move the Tokyo as well. Still here for now. Interested? Only selling this beauty to jump at another Fodera opportunity.

Indian rosewood board to my knowledge and right around 10lbs would be my guess. I will get an accurate weight by tomorrow.

Are those pics of the actual bass? With the exception of the 1 you are holding.

Yes they are. They were the Austin Bass traders stock photos when I bought the bass in March 2012. Definitely some intense light going on in them, but they show how insane the quilt is.

Are you sure that's the same bass? I need more proof. Also can you prove that's you holding the bass? :eyebrow:

Good luck with the sale, Grady is as honest as they come and one of the nicest TB'ers!

Just the way the picture turned out. It is a right handed instrument.

The one Fodera I regret getting rid of was an Emperor 5 bolt on 34 scale. If I were you Grady I would resist the imperial body shape crush and stick with what you got!

I may regret it, but my goal is to try a few different body/build style to find what works for me before ordering a custom to my own specs.

    Bump!

According to my digital scale it weighs an even 10.0 lbs, but balances perfectly of course.

Bump for a beautiful fodera bass. If it was 17.5mm I'd be trading my 19.0mm to you!
