I am now offering this bass for sale or trade, hence the new thread.

Here's my beloved 2006 Gibson SG Reissue Bass in a sexy Cherry Finish. Here's the breakdown:

-Plays perfectly! Nice low, fret-buzz-free action. There's some serious butta' in there!:smug:

-Great 1960's/70's Gibson tone. It's deep, warm, and very punchy. This is easily the highest-output passive bass that I have ever owned/played! It kills.

-There is some very minimal, superficial swirling marks or dings. It has only been played for one show, one rehearsal, and approximately 6 hours of total around-the-house playing. It has NEVER been around cigarette smoke, alcohol, or pets. The finish was polished and detailed yesterday.

-This one is currently wearing a brand-new set of GHS .045-.100 flats. However, I'll throw in a set of used (from this bass) D'Addario nickel roundwounds.

-It will come with a polishing cloth, a rectangular hard case, the extra strings, and a good strap.

Cash: $825 firm (I'll eat the shipping cost) (PayPal or Money Order, USA shipping ONLY)

    Trades: (no fretless)
    -
    4 or 5 string Spectors
    -
    4 or 5 string Warwicks
    -MM SR5
    -Gibson Thunderbird
    -
    USA-made Ampeg stuff
    -
    ...run other stuff by me!

Also, I can always throw extra toys or $ into a deal. :smug:

So, if you take the case away it won't play well? :smug:

    ...just kidding

PM me some pics and info. I'll take a look.

As of right now, this bass is still available, folks. Jump on this; these don't come around very often!

Very nice bass, and great price! How are those flats working out on it?

I'm not normally a fan of flats, but the mixture of those and the SG Bass just scream! The bass is so deep, warm, and bassy to begin with--the flats add another dimension of thump and vintage goodness. I'm impressed!

Trade for a Gibson Les Paul Money bass? Double cut Les Paul body, with Thunderbird electronics.

Are those flatwound strings in your picture? The purple windings look just like my Ken Smith roundwounds that I play on my SG. If you used to play rounds, what flats did you switch to?

    Free bump.
