    TRADED

Ed Friedland's excellent video review of this bass is here. Since Ed posted his review, Human Base added a series/parallel switch to this model, so the bass for sale has some additional punchy/burpy/single coil/J-bass sounds not heard in the video. Delano pickups, Glockenglang 3-band preamp - engineers are gaga for this bass in the studio, it's natural voice is warm and clear with a dry growl. Action is currently absurdly low, and the B string is articulate throughout its range, never flabby.

I am the first owner, bought it new at the Bass Place last summer, and it's in great shape: one tiny nick on the headstock, some very minor play wear (serial number on the back is starting to rub off), no issues. I replaced the stock knobs with some plastic Jazz knobs that look a little cheesy, but are a lot easier to deal with in a live setting. The original knobs will be included with the bass. Bridge is an adjustable Hipshot "A" style, I have it set up as wide as it goes, 19mm spacing, it'll go down to about 17. For the record, it's a 34" scale and a 45mm nut width, some more specs are here. Bass ships in a very plush suede Axe Pack gig bag.

There are going new for $1400 plus tax (if you could find one),this one can be yours for $1150 + shipping. This is on the block ONLY because I got a Sadowsky RV5. My 5 string needs are covered, but I'm a huge sucker for new toys. I'd like to trade for a good sixer (or mid-range sixer plus cash), or maybe a quality 4 plus cash.

'nother edit: I'm not sure what's reflecting in a couple of these photos, but there are NO scratches on the body, scroll down for some more photos.

Thanks for the kind words. This bass takes a really low set up if that's your bag. Neck is straight and the unusual neck/body joint makes for surprising stability - my other axes needed little tweaks for the winter, the Human has not needed any adjustment since I dialed it in back in July. So yes, it's great for jazz soloing, and if I end up keeping it (which I may, I'm being fairly picky on trades) I'll set it up E-C for jazz projects, which is a snap with the zero fret.

Photos of upper horn. It appears to be a scratch in one of the photos above, I think it's just the natural grain of the wood. Running your finger along it does not feel like a scratch.
