    Traded to Angrydad (thanks Andy)!
MINT, virtually like new, 1994 Fender Precision Special in factory Translucent Red (you can see the wood grain through the paint but the pictures don't do this justice as you can see the wood grain much better in person)! This specific model was only made for 2 years and this color makes it even more rare. Most of these also did not come with this pickguard from the factory but this one did (yes, this is the original Fender factory installed pickguard), so this also sets this one apart. It also has an factory active pre-amp (with 2 stacked knobs, so it really has 4 knobs total) and REAL Schaller tuners.

This bass is all original (no mods) and again, it's mint. How often do you see a 12+ year old P that's mint (try virtually never)?? To top it all off, it plays like a DREAM (low action, no fret buzz, etc)!!! The P and J pickups and active pre-amp allows you to dial in both Precision and Jazz bass tones and ALSO gives you even more flexability because the active pre-amp allows for even more tone changes. You can go from vintage to hi-fi with a couple of turns. You can also blend the P and J pickups too for some very cool tones! It comes with a nice TKL gig bag. $425 shipped!! For trades, please don't offer me low-end bass trades (SX, lower end Ibanez, etc, etc). Thanks!!!!

I am going to hazard a guess that it was made in Mexico.

I was told by somebody that while these were assembled in Mexico, this particular model was made with U.S. parts that were shipped there (to Mexico) and just put together there. Word is that this was too expensive for Fender because it was still a Mexican bass in the public's mind and they pulled this model after just two years. It really does look, feel and play like a U.S. Precision unlike other MIM Fender's I have played which actually feel lesser than a U.S. or Japanese Fender.

I note it says mint, but PM on shape sent anyway. Also, what is weight?

I'll answer your questions here as well as the PM.

    Knobs are as follows:

Neck stacked = Volume is inner, blend is outter
Bridge stacked = treble is inner, bass is outter

A couple very, I mean VERY minor dings on the headstock and one VERY minor ding on the bottom of the body on the inner arch. I've seen many "new" basses hanging on the wall in shops in much worse shape. I'm being very picky with the dings as they are hardly noticable and you really have to look for them.

Weight = 7.75 lbs (very managable and comfortable)

I had one like that, but I put Bartolinis in mine, otherwise it was identical (same colour, pickguard, etc).
