Just got this pretty sick bass, and I'm pretty stoked on peavey cirrus', I've had some high end basses and they definitely compete with them. Really what I need though is a jazz bass, either a lakland jazz fiver, or new fender jazz five.

The cirrus has a maple top, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, 17 mm spacing, and the cirrus pickups and pre. Weight is just under 9 lbs and perfectly balanced. There are a couple of tiny dings in the finish that I'll try to get better photos of, and one in the neck. All very small.

I will also consider trades for pedulla raptures, fender marcus millers, and 70's p-basses. I prefer maple fretboards.

    thanks!

Wow, I just got a Cirrus 6 that I like pretty well. I wish that I had something to give up for this.

Hey you...am I gonna have to start fighting you for Peaveys? :)

I must admit, I was tempted to offer up my J DLX V, but I love the small J body, rolled fingerboard edges and sound.

They are rad basses, I have a six string fretless cirrus that has become my main and favorite bass. I just really need to have a jazz in my arsenal instead of this.

Oh, and I just put a set of DR Sunbeams on it. It plays wonderfully now.

  9. Great bass! I have its twin. I have another in Ruby Red and I'm currently having a custom built as well! Gotta love the USA Cirrus!

Another bump for a fantastic bass!

Played this at practice last night, it sounds pretty dang good. I'm gonna try it out some more and see what I think.

But feel free to keep sending me trade offers. What I'm most interested in is a Joe Osborne five string with maple board, either sunburst or natural..

  12. ya know Peavey Cirrus basses more so than any other bass on this forum are more revered than most any other basses. Other Peavey owners always say to the Peavey owner selling his bass to keep it and ya know what apart from trading the basses amongst ourselves they are right KEEP IT. The only way you should sell this is to a Peavey Cirrus owner. You should possibly see if another Peavey owner perhaps wants to trade w you and that he has a Cirrus w a maple fret board they really are gr8 basses. As far as a Jazz basses these Cirruses can hold their own and can very easily mimic that sound too.

I may trade my 5er for another 4 w a maple board so I can have two w slightly different sounds as far as wood tonalities.
Make no mistake my 5er is a fluid soundin Cirrus and has a gr8 tonal quality to it that is why is is even hard to just trade it for another Cirrus. I am really not a 5 string player and it is still hard to give my 5er up. So ya know what I am sayin think about it before you loose a gr8 sounding and quality instrument.

Why I think you are right man. I think for now, I'm gonna hold on to this and explore its capabilities more. I have to say, its about 5 times as nice as I thought it would be.

thanks for the interest from everyone.

  14. gr8 to hear and just because it says Peavey you don't have to be embarrassed they are gr8 basses

Well, I'm putting this back up. I do like it a lot, but I just need to have a fender looking instrument in my stable for a couple of projects I'm playing in. Really interested in Joe Osbornes with maple board and audere pre.

I would also consider a fretted six string cirrus in trade, just to see if I would prefer it over my modulus.
