I gave my nephew this TBC a while ago that was made in CA circa 2000. It has a jazz neck with single MM pup. Nice blue with rosewood board, black hardware, strung with Enie Balls. I know this was an early US model before they moved manufacturing.
This thing really plays great. Typical light wear, but no major dings or scratches. The battery compartment cover is cracked, but not the compartment itself.
He has since acquired other 4 stringers and is looking to move to a 5 string. Will sell outright for $250 shipped CONUS in a generic gig bag, or will condider trades for 5 stringers only. Willing to add cash within reason for the right 5er so feel free to throw out any trade offers.
PM me if you would like additional pics.
    Thanks for looking.

I must say, this thing pounds. I really think that it is in excellent shape, I am going to have my nephew go over it again and weigh it also. I remember when these came out and I was and still am impressed with the quality.

Thanks for putting this up, uncle mike. I'm gonna miss it!!

  9. Please consider this a bump...

Hopefully not too far off topic. Is this the company?

    THE BASS COMPANY USA http://www.thebasscompany.com

It looks like this website might be inactive now. Where has production moved to?

Good luck with the sale. If I could get rid of a guitar locally I'd seriously consider that bass. Thanks...

I picked up one like this from the classifieds here a few weeks back. It plays and sounds great!

This is an older TBC from the 1990's or 1980's. I'm sure it is US made, and likely very comparable to a Stingray. If I had not picked up an ATK305 today, I would have gotten this bass myself.:)

  12. Thanks Dr. Cheese. I hope no one has interpreted my post as casting doubt on the instrument's U.S. manufacture. I was just curious about whether this company is still making basses at all.

It looks like a nice bass and is exactly what I need right now, but I have to sell something else first. Or else I'm in trouble with the boss. :eyebrow:

Thanks. I'll go back into hiding now.

The Doc is correct, this was a US made bass prior to TBC changing to import models. It doe have that SR punch

I paid $350 for mine and would do it again in a heartbeat. Fabulous fretwork and no neck gap - its a fine USA made bass. Sounds like a stingray but a bit more 'organic'. I just like mine so much that I have to give a shout out!
