This is your brain on drugs kids.

This Bass Needs A Special Owner.
Namely, someone who doesn't mind that it's been set on fire. I picked this up when it was nice and clean, as a trade in, so I never really had any sentimental value associated with it, and then I got a fretless 30th anniv. SR4, so this one has just been laying around since. The burning took place during 2004.
It's an American Standard Lined Fretless P. It plays great, it looks like crap. I would guess it was made in the late 90s/early 2000s. Serial is N553933.

    DSCN1074. DSCN1073.
    DSCN1071. DSCN1070.
    Family.

I'm interested in a passive Fretted P with a maple neck.
This is a long shot, but I thought I would post it up...hell, people will buy/trade for just about anything...and I'm counting on that. lol

    thanks for looking.

May I ask what caused it to get that way? Playing and never wiping it down? Relic job gone awry? Someone spill acid on it?

    I've never seen that before.

It got that way, because 30 beers told me lighting a bass on fire and taking a file to it would make it looked "reliced".
It actually took a lot of work because the poly finish was thick as hell, wouldn't light, and the fumes probably killed off many of my brain cells. I would not recommend it!

    I'm not proud, lol.

Lets play the game...how about 250 starting, and I'll ship it.
I just looked up the Serial N5+5 or 6 numbers and it appears to have been make in 95 or 96, not that it matters.

I sooooo wish i had the cash cause i am 1) gassing for a fretless and 2) gassing for a P. It is even a plus that i has already been ladden with "character". maybe i can talk my wife into it. good luck

LOL...actually it stunk like a campfire for a couple weeks!
I really just need some cash for the "blem" p-bass (understatement), so that I can score me a fretted p with a maple neck...which I've been craving.

Anyways, thanks everyone for checking out this thread.
IbanezCollector just bought it because he wants a new project to work on. I hope his relic job turns out better than mine. LOL :rollno:

Nice price for a nice bass with a broken paint job!

Wow, if I wasn't looking for a MIDI controller, and if it doesn't smell, I'd be all over that as well. A little sanding, and you'd have a nicely relic'd bass.

    wow! is that flamed maple?

I'd be totally down to buy that, if I had the money. It IS an American, regardless.
