G&L SB-2 Marry Kay White finish with Black Pick-guard and Maple Fingerboard. 1 1/2 at the nut 9 pounds by my bathroom scale. The Bass is in original condition. The serial number is B031869. It's hard to make out the date stamp on the neck, it looks like Nov 5 1997 to me but if you can find a place to date the bass by the serial number please let me know. Comes with a none G&L hard case. NEW PRICE 600.00 shipped in the lower 48. I will ship UPS and insure the bass for the full amount. Paypal only please and you must have a confirmed address.

This is a great playing and sounding Bass. It has been played over it's life so there are some dings on the bass and the pick-guard has some swirls and pick marks on it. There is a ding in the fingerboard at the 16th fret under the E string that I can not get a picture of.

I am open to trades at this point too. Let me know what you have. 4 string Basses only please.

It's hard to make the year date out from the pictures so go with the serial number if you can to find the year it was made. It looks like 1997 to me.

I'm curious what these basses sound like. Anyone know where there are sound bytes to hear?

Have any recordings of this bass?

The neck pickups sound just like a P Bass. the bridge pickup is tighter sounding almost slightly compressed in comparison to a Fender J style pickup. The two of them on together is an unbelievable tone. Very punchy and a great tone for slap. I'm sure the wood combination of ash and maple help the slap tone as well.

Almost entirely recorded with an SB-2. Try tracks 4, 7, 8

Everyone should have at least one SB-2!
