Well, I actually have 3 Linc basses. The 4 fretless is the least sentimental, although it is incredible. I find myself more comfortable playing a 5-string neck, so I'd really like to get me a 5-string fretless, and something has to go, so it will be this bass. This bass is gorgeous and plays and sounds great, so I'm sure whoever decides they want it will not be disappointed.

As for the 6, I'm not sure I will definitely let it go. It has some serious sentimental value, but if the right deal comes along....

    I'm keeping my 5.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but is there any curve, however slight, to the fret board or is it absolutely flat?

I have always liked the Linc Luthier basses. Ever since I played my first one in the late 90's. You hardly ever see them pop up used. I have been looking for a 5er to pop up for years. Good luck..gorgeous bass.

What's the scale length and string spacing on this bass?

This one is flat (I'm pretty sure) like most Lincs. My 5 and 6 were both custom and have radius, I think they have 20" radii.

I'm pretty certain it's 34" and standard four string spacing--3/4" or 19mm. It's pretty much a standard Schaller 4-string bridge (they're not as common these days). The rollers can be adjusted for string spacing by rolling them to the desired location. The nut is wider than a jazz (I think), but the neck is thin front to back with a pronounced V shape. The V is offset to the bass side ever so slightly, like an asymmetrical neck shape would be, but more V shaped.

Just thought I should mention that the back of the neck was originally gloss finish, but my local tech satined it down to a gorgeous smooth finish. It is still well protected, just not sticky or slimy any more. The fingerboard also has a satin finish (Linc finishes all fingerboards, the fretted boards are glossy like a Ric, fretless boards come standard with a satin finish), and the neck now matches the fingerboard.

Bump for this gorgeous bass. I'm getting low-ball offers. This bass is amazing and in mint condition. You'll never see another macassar ebony bass with wood this incredible. It's lightweight on a strap too. Send me an offer, but don't low ball me. I have a limit to how low I'll go. BTW, Linc basses take about 2 years to build--take it from me, I have 3 of them. So if you really want one, now's your chance.

I'm surprised no one has snatched this up. I'd have to sell a bass to swing this deal plus I've already bought 2 this year. Way too much G.A.S.

Now if you ever decide to part with the 5-string give me a shout.
