    UPDATE

To make things easier/less complicated, I've decided to sell the bass with the original Barts and NOT the Nordstrand pickups (as pictured below). So, the bass is the bass as shown below with the original pickups, etc. All original stuff in the original HSC.

USA made Lakland 494 (sometimes called 44-94) for sale. Bass is without question the best playing bass I've ever played. The neck is the best. People rave about these necks and for good reason.

    Bass features the following:

    • Maple neck and figured maple board (I believe neck is 1/4 sawn)
    • Drop D-tuner
[[DEL]*]Currently loaded with Nordstrand MM 4.4 and NJ4SV[/DEL]
    • Serial Number (378) puts the bass at 1999
    • 3TB quilted maple top
    • Weight - 8.5 lbs per shipping scale
Crazy low action, super fast playability.

Bass is not a museum piece and has its share of dings, scuffs etc. (see pics) It has been played but not abused.

    Price: [DEL]With Nordstrand Pickups - $2100. [/DEL] With original Barts - $[DEL]1850[/DEL]. $1800 plus shipping.

(sorry, pics are not great. . . new camera)

What model Nordstrand pickups are in this and how would you describe the tone of them vs. Bartolinis or Lakland pickups?

Unfortunately I've broken down and posted it on feeBay. For many reasons I'd prefer to sell it to a TB member so. . . . . tick tock.

Simplified posting. Nordstrand pickups are NOT part of the sale. Price reduced to $1800 + shipping. Bass will come with the original pickups, preamp, etc. in the original case.

    No Nordstrand pickups.

    Nice and easy.

:meh: Bump for the strangest TB "for sale" thread I've had yet.

    Answers to common questions:

    • Yes, if the bass has the original Barts in it, it is as original as it can be.
    • Yes the case is the original as far as I know
    • No, the whiteish spots and lines on the back of the bass are NOT finish problems rather reflections of light and the duct work in the ceiling of my basement where the pictures were shot.
    Thanks for looking
