These basses need little introduction - if you're a bass player, you've probably crossed paths with one firsthand or heard a player using one. It's essentially the USA 55-94 Lakland style bass with the same electronics, fabricated in Indonesia and finished in the USA.

    From Lakland's Site:

    SKYLINE 55-02

The 55-02 is equipped with our familiar MM/J pickup configuration and custom 3-band preamp used in the US-made 55-94. The controls on the 55-02 are the same as on the 55-01 and the master volume pot can be pulled to bypass the active preamp. The 55-02 has a 3-way toggle for coil splitting.

This bass will ship with a Lakland HSC black in color, it looks very similar to an SKB style case with a small form factor.

The bass is in great condition and sounds fantastic, but I've got a 55-94 and I don't need it. I got it in trade and the previous owner did a great job of setting it up nicely and it plays great.

The bass weighs 9.2lbs according to my bathroom scale.

$950 Shipped in the Continental United States. No trades will be considered unless you have a G&L L2000, a Stingray Classic or a Nordy.

I have essentially this exact same bass (same color and model, but with a maple neck), and it KILLS. One of the smoothest playing 5 strings I've ever touched. Whoever gets this is getting a great bass for a steal!

  5. That's got one of the nicest bursts I've seen on a Lakie for a long time - awesome!

Thanks! I think the bass may be getting a little jealous from the Natural/Maple thread that's staying at the top of page one. :)

    Replied...

The bass says it was made in Indonesia.

I don't see any obvious issues with the neck/truss rod; I'm not a tech but it plays fine in my hands.

It was made in 2008 and has the Lakland pickups and preamp.
