Up for sale is a bass that was built to look a lot like Les Claypool's main 4-string Carl Thompson. There's a lot of information on the build as it was documented in this thread:

Some info on the bass from the for sale ad when I got it:

    My Photos of the bass...

    Quote:
The bass has a walnut body with flamed maple runners. This is a copy of Claypool's main 4 string minus the tremolo. It has an EMG 35DC with the EMG BQC Control 18-volt system. 3 piece maple neck with a wenge fretboard and guitar frets. Hipshot brass bridge and Hipshot ultralight tuners.

There are some really cool features on it. They are all documented in the build thread. But here is a short explanation.

    - 34" scale 28 fret (removable 4 frets held on by magnets) covers the truss rod access.

    - Magnetic front control cover for easy access to the cavity. Batteries are on the back of the bass in a dual flip battery box

    - Semi-hemispherical frets (you do not feel them on the edge of the board) Very nice feel.

    - Pseudo binding using the wenge from the fretboard to also keep the fret edges from protruding.

The bass weighs about 9.3 lbs and balances great on a strap. The neck is a flattened C shape with is by far the best 4 string neck I have ever felt. 19mm spacing at the bridge.

I'm selling it because I haven't been playing it much and someone else will get more use out of it. Everyone that tries it, loves it. If you are local to Quakertown Pa, you are welcome to try it. I removed the "solo Rio" plate and put a darker wood plate on the headstock, but I have the original that will come with the bass.

[DEL]$1300[/DEL] $1200 - SOLD with gig bag, dunlop strap locks and strap. Sorry, no trades.

So are you accepting trade offers or no? The first line says up for trade but later it says sorry no trades?

I'm sorry about that! I'll edit it. No trades on this one. I'm not playing enough right now to get more equipment. Thanks for pointing that out!
